Payroll Management System
Attendance-based payroll processing with CSV upload, earnings and deduction breakdowns, payslips and period exports.
Overview
The Payroll Management System turns attendance data into payroll records. An administrator uploads a CSV for a pay period, and the system produces a per-employee breakdown of attendance, earnings, deductions and net pay.
Employee records carry the details payroll depends on — user type, department, shift, daily rate, bank account and government-deduction status — and every payroll period can be exported for reporting.
Business purpose
Computing pay by hand from attendance sheets is slow and error-prone. The system standardizes the inputs (a CSV per period) and applies the same computation to every employee.
My role
- I developed this payroll application as part of my systems-development work.
- I built the CSV processing, payroll tables, employee management and export screens shown below.
Technical implementation
- Sign-in page with remember-me and password recovery; role-labelled sessions (e.g. System Administrator).
- CSV upload (max 5 MB) with the date range auto-detected from the file and shift-based late calculation; a manual date-entry option is also available.
- Upload history and an activity log of user actions.
- Paginated, filterable record tables for employees and payroll.

Main features
Admin dashboard
Active personnel, payroll records this month, total paid and department counts, with quick actions for common tasks.
Employee management
Filters by user type, status, department, shift, bank account and government deductions; add employees individually or in batch; bulk payslip download.
Payroll breakdown
Per-employee attendance (days, absences, holidays, half-days, late, early, overtime minutes), earnings (basic, holiday, overtime, leave, incentives) and deductions (late, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) through to net pay.
Manager payroll
A separate view for manager-level payroll records.
Period exports
Simple, summarized and detailed exports for any date range and user type, with a summary of employees, records, gross and net pay.
